Yearly insurance and Marchamo
In Costa Rica you have to take your vehicle to the yearly smog inspection then pay what is known as the marchamo, this is the sticker on your windshield that states that you paid taxes, basic insuranmce and some other expenses they charge you.
If you want additional insurance on your vehicle then you will have to pay more money,
The marchamo is mandatory and you will also pay late fines if you don´t have it ready by January 1st.
