Tomatoes can be very risky in Central America. I have grow 3 crops in Honduras. You can make alot of money and you can lose your ass. The local term is culo negro. If he is using preventitive fungicides and insecticides this should not occur. Where he buys his fertilizer and pesticides they should be able to tell him what to use and if they cant he should go somewhere ellse. He should also look for a spot that will grow his starts it is well worth the extra money.
