Ortega's FSLN was indeed successful in stopping the march of the PLC. By making sure the PLC supporters couldn't get to Managua, while bringing all the FSLN supporters to literally take over all the intersections, no opposition march could take place... despite the PLC opposition likely having more supporters overall than the FSLN, they are simply not as motivated by the will to power. Now Ortega simply must keep the PLC repressed long enough so that they give up hope of mass action, and it's back to business for the mafiosos.
