ok, i figured it out
It took me a little investigation but I figured it out. Now all your new content from your external blog should appear within 15 minutes in the "Collected Blogs" tab. The entries are also aggregated at http://central-america-forum.com/aggregator/sources/19.
It might be possible to also find a way to have the blog entries automatically added under your username, but I do not know how to do that yet. If I figure it out I will let you know.

That would be great. The blog is just about ordinary life in Costa Rica from a single retired lady, but may help some people wanting to know about the mundane
.

Hi Nell, You're welcome. I don't blame you: that third option sounds pretty bizarre.
It just occurred to me there is yet another possibility. If your external blog has an RSS or ATOM feed, then I can add it through the administrative interface, so that it will appear in the "Collected Blogs" listing. Your blog does have an ATOM feed (I just found it - the URL is http://nellincostarica.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default)
So, if you want your offsite blog entries to show up in "Collected Blogs" automatically, just let me know and I will add the ATOM feed to "Collected Blogs".

external blogs
Thanks for your prompt answer. I think I will just stick with the first two.

external blogs
Hi Nell,
Welcome to the site! Here are some options for linking to and adding external blogs.
First, I see that you've added the URL to your user profile already, so users will be able to find your external blog through your user page. Good.
Second, If you would like to add one or more favorite entries from your external blog, you can just "cut and paste" into the editor after you select "create content" and "blog entry". If you want, you can also add a link back to your external blog on those pages.
Finally - this is a bit technical, so ignore it if you don't understand - you can add blog entries to this site with programs that use the XML-RPC based blogging APIs such as the Blogger API, MetaWeblog API, and most of the Movable Type API. You will need to read the Drupal Blog API Instructions if you want to try this. You'll set http://central-america-forum.com/xmlrpc.php as your XML-RPC URL. Actually, I haven't even tried this myself. If you or anyone does try it, please let me know your experience!
If you have any other questions about using the site, just add them as "comments" in this blog entry, and I'll be happy to answer them as best as I can.
Peter
