China and Costa Rica

In my first trip to Central America five years ago, I was struck by how dominated the Panamanian convenience shop scene was by those with Chinese owners. I haven't been back to Panama, but I assume the same is still true there. For whatever reason it seems the Chinese have been slower to take root here in Costa Rica. But maybe that's about to change: it looks like China and Costa Rica are on track to increase their trade and investment interdependence. The Honda 125 I ride was made in Guanzhou, China, but I bought it new from a tico-owned hardware store. Maybe in five years the best prices on Chinese Hondas will be at Chinese dealerships. We'll see.
Here are a few words rom CR, UK, and China. Interesting how China now seems to be taking up to post its own news.
