Example of Disrespect for Freedom of Expression in Nicaragua

A recent march of women protesting violence against women was originally issued a permit to march, but then had their (peaceful) march blocked. Contrast this with how the police allow the Sandinstas to march anywhere, anytime and to employ violence in their marches. Of course it's no coincidence that the women's rights groups in Nicaragua are not on the best of terms with dictator, generally siding with the claims of his step-daughter of years of abuse by the dictator. -Peter
