A Fantastic Day in Paradise

LisaValencia's picture

I just had a fantastic day here in paradise – magnificent waves, political conversation with a new found friend, getting drenched to the bone and then a ride in the back of a pickup truck. That’s the way it goes here in Costa Rica. Just walk out the door with an adventurous attitude and no plans, You never know what will happen. Read all about my adventures in my Costa Rica Travel Journals. I’ve just added several new posts about life in the Caribbean, airports in Costa Rica, travel tips - where to find good food anywhere in the Country, a good hotel and a bad hotel and much more of this celebration of life that is Costa Rica! http://www.travelexperiencecostarica.com Pura Vida! Pure Life and Love! Lisa

Puerto Viejo

Thanks Lisa for a lovely post Puerto Viejo is a very good place though its the small Caribbean coast but the largest tourist destination in Costa Rica.

Puerto Viejo

Thanks for all the nice things you said about Puerto Viejo and the area. I understand it all because I loved it here when I visited and after being here for a month and then coming home, it took all of three days for me to decide to move here. It is people like you who contribute to the good energy we have here. You would be welcome in this community.

Puerto Viejo

Hi Lisa. We were in Puerto Viejo in April for 2 weeks. We stayed in an open air cabina at Cashew Hill - I'm sure you are familiar with it. The owners sold the property while we were there. When we first arrived I was a uneasy with the whole "open air" thing. Within a couple of days I fell in love with it. Waking up in the mornings to the jungle sounds and walking out to have our morning coffee on the balcony with palm frongs all around. It was heaven. We didn't have a car - we walked to Playa Chiquita one day to the wildlife rescue center and one day we rented bikes and went to Manzanillo. The people were so warm and friendly. I had some of the best food I have ever tasted in my life there! The vegetables are so fresh and full of flavor! The restaurants are pretty awesome, too. It was so difficult for us to leave there. I know we will live there someday. I have never felt so good in my life as I did while I was there, I'm not sure if it was the fresh air, exercise, or the clean food - maybe a combination of all - but I envy your life there and I can't wait to get back!
