CFCI has seven open mission trips going out in 2009. Take a look and see if any strike you as interesting. If you go on one of these trips, we are always excited to send you back for a longer period of time if you would end up being interested in living there. Call or email me for more information!
BOLIVIA/ JUNE 8-17, 2009
Come alongside the local Bolivian church with Christ For the City. Many churches in Bolivia don't have the resources or opportunities to learn and grow in their faith that we enjoy here in the U.S. CFCI- Bolivia seeks to minister to churches in Cochabamba through offering support and training. The Bolivia team will assist CFCI in this mission through offering children's programs and doing a construction project for a local church.
You can help with games, sports, crafts, drama, music, puppets, or Bible lessons. Everyone will be able to assist with the construction project as well.
COSTA RICA/ JULY 31– AUGUST 9, 2009
Work with a CFCI missionaries starting a new ministry in Guanacaste, Costa Rica. Branching off of CFCI’s work in San Jose, our Guanacaste missionaries are beginning a ministry of healing to people affected by the sex trade in the area. Members of this summer’s team will help our missionaries make contacts with local churches and establish themselves in the new area. Teams are a great help in opening doors for new ministries, and this team will work with a church to provide kids’ programs, women’s ministry, and clean-up and repair work.
EL SALVADOR/ JUNE 20-29, 2009
Christ For the City- El Salvador is committed to being involved in and reaching out to needy communities in the capital of San Salvador.
Our Soccer Training School is one of the ministries you will have the opportunity to work with while serving with CFCI in San Salvador. With the growth of the gang problem in the city, the School is designed to give kids and teens another alternative. Instead of finding belonging and companionship through a neighborhood gang, kids can come to the School to play soccer, learn about the Bible, and find good adult role models. You will minister to these youth through games, crafts, Bible lessons, and just spending time with them.
Team members will also have the chance to serve in the Medical Clinic located in a poor neighborhood. Many Salvadorans cannot afford medical care and your outreach will give them the chance to receive the care they need so badly.
PANAMA/ JUNE 8-17, 2009
Join us in Panama and minister to children in local schools and churches. Our missionaries in Panama focus their energies on reaching out to children through Children's Evangelism Festivals and school feeding programs. If you love kids, enjoy puppets, music, or drama this is the trip for you. Travel with us through neighborhoods in Panama City ministering to children through the arts. Visit elementary schools and help feed children-at-risk who have been chosen by their teachers to receive free meals because of their great need.
PERU/ JUNE 20-29, 2009
Christ For the City- Peru works hard to be a unifying force in the Christian community of Lima. Our Peru Director, Pastor Samuel, believes that working together across church and denominational lines is crucial to serving God effectively. To that end, CFCI partners with many local pastors in the community to offer outreaches using music, drama, and puppets, seminars and workshops, and ministry directed toward specific groups of people like businessmen and pastors' children.
This summer's Peru team will have the chance to work with pastors doing neighborhood evangelism, putting on children's programs, and ministering to church congregations through seminars, drama, or music. We are excited to have you bring your own unique gifts to the table and to incorporate these into the outreaches planned for the team.
TIJUANA/ JULY 31– AUGUST 9
Christ For the City- Tijuana operates three orphanages within the city. Join our missionaries in reaching out to needy kids, all of whom have experienced abuse or abandonment- many rescued right off the streets of Tijuana. Spend time with them playing games, doing crafts, music, and teaching Bible lessons.
Your team will serve through small maintenence and repair projects at the orphanages and local churches.
You will also have the opportunity to visit a community located near a garbage dump. Show God's love to people living in extreme poverty through the simple act of serving them a meal.
MEDICAL MISSION TOUR (El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Costa Rica)/ JULY 20- AUGUST 2, 2009
If you are interested in medical missions this trip will give you the chance to experience medical missions in three different countries and a variety of different forms.
You will begin your journey in San Salvador, El Salvador serving in a community medical clinic located in the poor neighborhood of Altavista, where most people cannot afford medical care.
Travel with us next to Nicaragua. Spend the night in Managua and visit the ministry of a Christian doctor reaching out to the impoverished in his city.
The last leg of your journey will take you to San Jose, Costa Rica where you will hike into the rainforest to bring a medical outreach to an indigenous tribal people called the Guaymi.
