Today I found a Nicaragua Peace Corps Blog by a PCV in Nueva Segovia.  There's some good stories in there.  It made me reminiscent for a few times when I remember hiking in the mountains around Esteli, eating rosquillas, talking to the friendly people sitting in front of their houses. As long as you are up for adventure, Nicaragua is a great place to visit and tromp around for a few months, practicing your Spanish and riding horses.
