Corn From Our Garden in Uvita, Costa Rica
This corn from our garden in Uvita, Costa Rica turned out very small. We fertilized it but the soil overall is quite deficient in this area, and I think in addition this variety was not well suited to our planting conditions. Corn can be very picky. Each corn variety is specialized for temperature, humidity, soil type, etc, and might do very different from another variety. Many crops are like that. One that always does well, however, is camote. In any case, this was the corn we harvested about ten days ago. We ate about four meals from our corn patches.
