New roof 3

New posts for the back patio. As you can see we need a little electrical work done as well. Next trip I plan on taking down a roll of wire. You can get it in Nicaragua but you have to get it from a government contactor, not only is the cost prohibitive but it would more than likely be black market as well.

phone call
I am sure that a simple phone call whould have been the answer but then again I have never hard a simple phone call in Nicaragua. Maybe they should think about updateing their website to be more user friendly and people would not have to call them to get a simple question ansered.
A simple telephone call
A simple telephone call would have answered your questions.
More info needed
I looked at their website and it did not tell me much, no prices on the stuff they say they have. It is sad that they do not post more information on their site.
Electrical wire
Tru SINTER in Managua, they do electrical installation and are a reputable company. Here is their web page

good luck and let us know what happens.
Electrical wire
When I checked in Chinandega at three different hardware stores I was told, independently, by all three that they are not allowed to carry 3/12 wire and that only government contracts get this imported wire. Then I was told by all three that they knew someone who could get it for me at a very high cost. The mannerisms they all had told me that it would not be on the up and up.
Electrical Wire
Sorry, but have never heard this story. When our construction company, does the takeoff for a building or house, we never consider the govt as a supplier of electrical wire, we go to the different companies that sell electrical supplies and that is it.
wire
Hi Cory,
What do you mean that you have to get wire from the government contractor?
