The Importance of Self-Defense: Our Rifle in Nicaragua


After I figured out that the locals near the farm where I lived in Nicaragua did not respect a landowner without a gun, a friendly neighbor lent me his rifle. From that point on, every time we went walking around the farm, we were prepared. This man was one of the few Nicaraguans who was willing to tell me the way things actually work in Nicaragua even when it wasn't what I wanted to hear.
