Our water level in the rainy season is about 1 meter. In the dry season it drops to around 3 meters (before pumping that is)

One of the reasons why I love where I live. It may be hot, VERY hot but then again I do not spend 3 hours a day working on my pumps. I turn them on, wait two hours and change lines, do this 8 hours per day and drink Tona the rest of the time, he he he

lister 3 piston diesel with lister 3-phase 30kw generatorI'm salivating just looking at that picture.  At my farm in Carazo, the water level was 200 meters deep.  Just to produce a 2" stream of water required a huge 3-piston lister diesel engine with a 30kw 3-phase generator (all of which of course was broken when I bought the farm).
